Stansbury - Coobowie - Edithburgh

As the sun rises over picturesque Oyster Bay, dolphins can be seen frolicking in the shallows; and further out the oyster leases can be seen at low tide. Local oysters can be purchased throughout this area of the Peninsula, at both Stansbury and Coobowie; and further north at Pine Point.

Take a leisurely drive along the coast road, through the small hamlet of Wool Bay and the grain port of Port Giles on your way to Coobowie. Try fishing at Edithburgh or dine in on delicious seafood. Just south of Edithburgh is the Wattle Point Wind Farm, currently the largest in South Australia; a viewing platform has been built which allows visitors to get up close to one of the towers.

Along this coastline are some of the areas most historic lighthouses, with Troubridge Island, just offshore from Edithburgh; and Troubridge Hill just to the South. Pick up a copy of our Shipwrecks brochure to learn about the trials that faced seamen of yesteryear along Yorke Peninsula's rugged coastline.
